How to calculate a discount.

To calculate a discount: multiply the original price by the discount percentage, then divide by 100. Subtract that amount from the original price to get the sale price. For example: $80 with 25% off = $80 × 0.25 = $20 savings, final price = $60.

Frequently asked questions.

How do I calculate multiple discounts?

Apply discounts sequentially. A 20% off + extra 10% off is NOT 30% off. First apply 20% to get the intermediate price, then apply 10% to that result. $100 → $80 → $72 (actual savings: 28%).

Is "buy one get one 50% off" the same as 25% off?

Yes, if you buy exactly two items at the same price. BOGO 50% off means you pay 150% for two items instead of 200%, which equals 25% off per item on average.
